A great range of walks with something for everyone. Details are available onwww.skye.co.uk Events and Whats On page via the link above.

1. Bag a Beinn. This year’s events programme for Skye and Lochalsh includes ten low to medium height hill-walks with the Highland Council Rangers an opportunity to get out and enjoy the wildlife and scenery of some of the higher ground in the area and to learn about navigation and
mountain safety in the company of experienced guides.

2. Upland Path Maintenance Days. This year we are running four Upland Path Maintenance Days to help to address the ongoing maintenance of the
paths around Skye and Lochalsh constructed by the Skye and Lochalsh Footpaths Initiative between 1992 and 2008. Come and join us if you feel like putting in a bit of physical effort amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland.

3. ‘Orrible Ologies. This year’s theme for the Highland Council Ranger summer holiday events for children is “‘Orrible Ologies”. We will be having
fun with four scary scientific subjects-Ornithology; Paleontology; Marine Biology and Entomology through the course of the summer, on Wednesdays in July and August.

4. 2009 Year of Homecoming. As our part in this festival of all things Scottish, the Highland Council Rangers are leading two series of walks
in Skye: Ancestral Homes (visiting the home ground of Clan Nicolson, Clan Macaskill, Clan Mackinnon) and Clearance Corner (visiting Tusdale,
Hallaig, Boreraig/Suisnish and Lorgill/Ramasaig).

Finding it difficult getting to the start of our walks? Give us a call. We usually have space in a van if you can get to somewhere central to be
picked up and we may be able to put you in touch with other walkers with transport who could offer a lift.
